Hi, I'm Raven, and this is Goose!
As a 20 year old artist, I started drawing in middle school. I started with portraits of my favorite musicians, trying to understand how to capture a person’s likeness on paper. I stopped drawing for several years, but I returned to art recently after feeling inspired by my dog, Goose. He’s expressive, observant, adorable, and full of personality — trying to draw him reminded me of how much I enjoy the challenge of studying a subject closely and translating it into paper.
After picking up drawing again, I enrolled in a college drawing course to rebuild my skills and gain confidence. That experience helped me refine my technique and pushed me to take my work more seriously.
Today, I focus on creating portraits of pets, people, and animals, with an emphasis on expression and emotional clarity. A recurring theme in my work is the relationship between humans and nature. I’m interested in how we affect the natural world, how it affects us, and the reminder that humans are not separate from nature — we’re part of it.
My goal is to create artwork that feels honest, observant, and connected to the subjects I draw.
Thanks to my best friend, Goose, for getting me back into art, I now hope to turn my hobby into something more serious!
